Meet our new Social Worker, Emily McPherson! Emily comes to us after spending time in schools in Sparta, Red Bud, Okawville and Evansville. She has her Bachelors & Masters Degrees in Social Work from SIUE. Emily is married to Keith and has two sons Konnor & Kameron who attend Smithton School! They also have two dogs named Charlie & Mimi. In her free time Emily likes to read, hike and spend time with her boys. She is excited to work at Smithton because she loves the idea of working in her hometown & building a connection with all the kiddos in the community!

Softball will practice in the outfield and the cages by the baseball field (August 2nd) 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Baseball tryouts will be moved indoors this evening (August 2nd) from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm. in the Smithton School Gym. Players will need to wear tennis shoes and may wear shorts.

Meet new Early Childhood Para, Alivia Wilson! Alivia has 3 dogs - Rosie, Addy and Charlie and in her free time she likes to spend time with her family, draw and paint, go fishing and go for walks. Alivia is excited to work for Smithton School because she loves working with kids and with her mother as an educator, she has loved watching her mom work. Welcome 3rd Grade Teacher Emily Dobey! Emily is a recent graduate of SIUE with her Bachelors degree in Elementary Education. Emily student taught and substitute taught at Ellis Elementary in Belleville before making her way to Smithton. In her spare time Emily enjoys spending time with her mom, her 2 brothers and her boyfriend. She also loves to spend time hunting, fishing and being outdoors. When she is not outside, she enjoys reading. Emily is very excited to meet her students when the school year gets started!

Meet 3rd Grade Teacher Ireland Keen! Ireland is a recent graduate of the University of Alabama and has previous experience in Alabama city & county schools. Ireland comes from a family of 4 kids with 3 older brothers! She has a mini goldendoodle named Ella. In her free time, Ireland loves to be at the lake, to play sand volleyball and to shop. She is excited to work at Smithton because of the community. She is most excited to work with the incredible staff that she has already met!

Meet Early Childhood Teacher, Trisha Gaffner! Trisha comes to Smithton School from Central School District where she spent the last 4 years. Before that she spent time at Edinburg, Wood River / Hartford, Bond County and East St. Louis districts. Mrs. Gaffner has her Bachelors Degree from Eastern Illinois University. She has been spending her summer spoiling her niece and nephew! Trisha enjoys working out, running, cooking, listening to music, giving back to the community through the Moose Lodge, and spending time with family & friends.
Trisha is excited to work at Smithton School because the program is new and to be able to help familes that may not know about the positives of early childhood.

Meet 5th Grade Teacher Jordan Liszewski (Li-Shef-Ski)! Jordan comes to us from Germantown Elementary where she spent the last 8 years. Before that she taught at St. Libory Elementary and student taught at Freeburg Elementary School. Mrs. Liszewski has her Bachelors Degree from Lindenwood University. She is married with a 2 year old daughter and 3 dogs. In her free time, Jordan coaches basketball and hangs out with her family. She is one of 4 children in a very close family. Fun Fact: Mrs. Liszewski is Mrs. Stuhlsatz's sister in law!
Jordan is very excited to work at Smithton to be closer to her family and to teach 5th Grade!

Meet Early Childhood Para Angela Flake! Angela comes to Smithton School after spending time at Millstadt Kids Club, Kid's Academy and Teeny Tot Preschool. Angela has her Associates degree from SWIC. She is mom to Bobby and Tori, who attend Smithton School, and a fur mama to their cat, Cookie. Angela loves to read, hike and spend time with her family. She is excited to work at Smithton School because she went here and looks forward to helping give back to her community.
