A message from Mrs. Ratz regarding volleyball tryouts : "6th grade volleyball tryouts are cancelled for Monday, January 6th, and rescheduled for Wednesday, January 8th from 3:00-4:30 in the cafeteria gym. As of right now, we will still plan on having 7th and 8th grade tryouts on Tuesday, January 7th, from 3:00-4:30 in the main gym."

New opportunity at Smithton School!
ALL ABOARD!! THE POLAR EXPRESS!! Pre-K had so much fun on the Polar Express on Monday. After receiving a phone call from Santa calling off their trip due to some snowy weather in the North Pole, they promised him they would try their best to keep smiling and have fun anyway! After chugging along with their train whistles, and having their ticket punched, they boarded the train and enjoyed hot cocoa with chocolates! Afterwards, Santa sent them a special package from the North Pole, Silver Bells! The bells were extra chilly to touch from coming straight from the North Pole!
We are incredibly thankful to everyone who contributed to our Toy Drive last week. With your generous contributions of both funds and toys, we were able to deliver over 200 toys to Moms on a Mission. Your support has helped bring happiness to children and families in need, and we couldn’t have done it without you. Thank you for making a meaningful impact!
Last week in STEM...the Tech Club made & ate donuts, 8th grade made mechanized cat toys and kindergarten cut up vegetables for stone soup.
Yesterday was the Smithton Grade School & Freeburg High School Winter Band Concert held at Freeburg High School. The students did a great job & sounded fantastic! Great job Mr. Johnson!
From Ms. Nichols, "Pre-K had an exciting morning with our Gingerbread Man! He escaped our cookie sheet and led us on a hunt around the classroom! We weren't quick enough to catch him, but he did leave us some yummy treats, a stuffy and a new book to read!
EC and Pre-K also had a fun afternoon of gingerbread house making! It was an extra sweet day for some super sweet kiddos! "
