Miles of Smiles, Ltd. is coming to Smithton School! We are excited to offer this opportunity to our students! The Miles of Smiles team is currently planning for a day in late February or early March. More information on the exact date will follow soon.
Miles of Smiles, Ltd. comes to the school instead of requiring an office visit. They provide an exam, cleaning, fluoride varnish and sealants if needed to ANY child who produces a positive, fully completed permission slip.
Permission slips are coming home. They will also be in the virtual backpack and on the school Facebook page.
All students are eligible for this service regardless of insurance or ability to pay.
This service also meets the state of Illinois requirements for kindergarten, second grade, and sixth grade students.
Please return your completed permission slip by January 25, 2024, in order to provide an idea of how many students will be participating.

Happy MLK Day! On Friday, the 5th grade and 2nd grade classrooms met with their buddy class to color and build a puzzle that represents Martin Luther King’s beliefs on equity and diversity. Students then worked together to trace their hands and write their dreams and words that represent Martin Luther King Jr.
This week in STEM... Kindergarten made geoboard snowflakes, 2nd grade made ramps for mini skateboards, 3rd grade experimented with pulleys and 7th grade made pipe insulation marble rollercoasters.
